Kreative Kidz Dance Program at EMC
At EMC, we’re passionate about making dance fun and accessible for our youngest students, from their very first class to their growing years as dancers. Our Kreative Kidz Dance Program is designed to inspire, nurture, and develop children’s love for movement in a supportive, age-appropriate environment.
For our youngest dancers, we introduce basic dance concepts through creative movement, rhythm, and play. As children grow, they’ll begin to explore more structured ballet and tap techniques, learning proper stretching, positions, and jumps while developing coordination and confidence. Each class is designed to challenge children while keeping the fun alive.
As dancers progress, they’ll earn the privilege of performing on a professional stage twice a year—no school auditoriums here! At EMC, we go big, or go home! Our dancers also thrive in a close-knit, family-friendly environment where they feel valued and part of a supportive community.
Whether your child is dancing for fun or aiming to grow in the art of dance, EMC’s Kreative Kidz program is the perfect foundation for success. We’ve been training young dancers for over 30 years, helping them not only develop dance skills but also valuable life lessons along the way.
Dance Technique Program
Why Does EMC Require Dance Students to Enroll in a Package Instead of Individual Classes?
At EMC Performing Arts Studio, we do things a little differently—and with intention.
We believe that young dancers thrive when they receive well-rounded training that builds both technique and artistry. That’s why we offer a complete curriculum through our Basic Dance Package, which includes four foundational styles:
Ballet • Modern • Jazz • Tap
These styles work together to give dancers the strength, coordination, musicality, and creative expression they need to grow. It’s a lot like school—just as your child studies multiple subjects like math, reading, and science to become a well-educated student, dancers also need a variety of disciplines to become strong, versatile artists.
Why a Package, Not A La Carte?
While many studios allow students to pick and choose classes at random, we’ve found that doing so can leave gaps in a dancer’s training. Our packages are thoughtfully designed by experienced educators to ensure dancers don’t miss essential building blocks in their development.
What If My Dancer Only Wants to Focus on One Style?
While we highly recommend our comprehensive training model, we do accept outside students who wish to up-level their skills in a particular style. If your dancer is focused on enhancing one area of their training—say, jazz technique or ballet foundation—we’re happy to offer a specialized class experience that meets them where they are.

Hayden grew up around music, becoming a very versatile performer. His study began at age 6, taking drum lessons with his father James McGarvey. Currently a freshman at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Hayden studies classical percussion with Don Liuzzi of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Robert van Sice, and Eric Millstein. With these teachers, he studies timpani, snare drum, marimba, xylophone, hand drums and multi-percussion. Other disciplines he is learning at Curtis include piano, music theory, music history, ear training, singing and chamber music. While attending Susquehannock High School, Hayden became a very successful percussionist for PMEA honors groups. On top of numerous district and regional festivals, he performed two years in the PMEA state orchestra, as well as one year in the National All-Eastern Wind Ensemble. During High School he performed with the jazz band, pep band, marching band, orchestra, and wind ensemble. Hayden also attended the renowned Interlochen Summer Arts Camp in 2019 where he played as principal percussionist in the World Youth Symphony Orchestra. In addition to classical percussion, Hayden is well versed in drum set playing, previously studying with his father and Tench Tillman. He currently studies drum set with John Riley of the Manhattan School of Music, and has played in various settings such as jazz combos, jazz big bands, rock bands, duos and recording sessions. Hayden can be heard on Brendan Wiencek’s debut album Endless Bonds, as well as his latest single, Second Base. Hayden is very excited to pass on his knowledge and passion for music to his students at EMC.
